Rookie Lifeguard course designed for children from 8 years old
Developed by the Royal Life Saving Society UK, the rookie lifeguard awards offer parents the comfort of knowing their children are aware of how to avoid dangers and enjoy water safety.
Classes are on a Monday 7.30 - 8pm
Spring Term time 2024 (10 weeks)
Monday 8 January - 18 March (no swimming on 19 February Half Term)
Awards
Rookie skills make children aware of how to look after themselves and others.
There are 3 Awards, Bronze, Silver and Gold and 3 stages within each award.
The awards contain survival, rescue and sports skills as well as life support and water safety.
Assessment
Your child will be assessed on a continuous basis and upon successful completion of all awards they will rewarded with certificates and badges.
Rookie lifeguard also fulfills all of the key stage 2 safety elements of the National Curriculum.
